14U A2/A3 and 12U A1/A2 Coaches & Tryouts Set!

14u A2Ron Ortloff, played his college hockey at St. John’s University in Minnesota.  Last season he was the head coach of the Sno-King 12u A1 team. Ron is an excellent bench coach and runs a fast paced, fun practice. He is devoted to skill development and the American Development Model!

14u A3 Josh Harris played for Sno-King up through Midget.  This will mark Josh’s 10th year coaching for Sno-King, having coached beginners through Bantams at various rec and rep levels.  Josh is a USA Hockey level 4 coach and is passionate about the life lessons hockey provides – hard work, dedication, and working together as part of a team.  He has embraced the USA Hockey ADM philosophy that promotes skill development using small area games as the best teacher of the sport.  His definition of youth hockey success is when every player has improved and can’t wait to come back for another season.

12U A1Matt Cain

Matt is embarking on his 11th year of coaching youth hockey and he is entering his 5th season with Sno-King. While at Sno-King Matt has coached Rep and Rec teams at the 8U through 14U levels. Prior to moving to Sno-King, Matt coached in the Texas Junior Stars youth program and also had the opportunity to coach youth hockey in Asia for three years. Matt is originally from Pittsburgh, PA and played up through Tier 1 18U. Matt has completed his USA hockey level 4 and will attain Hockey Canada Developmental 1 coaching certification. Matt has tremendous passion for player development both on and off the ice.

             - Jason Kwiatkowski

Jason Kwiatkowski is a Sno-King veteran coach. Over the past 8 years he has been heavily involved with all levels of youth hockey, coaching 8U through 14U. Most recently, Jason was involved with the impressive San Jose Sharks youth program. Being a coach who played hockey in the WHL and Minor Pro, he has experienced, developed and implemented training sessions for both hockey game knowledge and off-ice athleticism. He has served on the Sno-King Hockey committee and is passionate about promoting the game as a springboard to character development. Because of his drive to give back to the game, Jason has completed his USA hockey level 4 and Hockey Canada Developmental 1 coaching certification. He also serves as a consultant/scout for the Des Moines Buccaneers of the USHL Junior league.

            12u A2 Derek Pizzey

Derek is embarking on is 13th season of coaching youth hockey and is entering his 1st season with Sno-King.  Derek has coached all levels of hockey from LTP to U18, at both the Rec and Rep levels, all with the Kent Valley Hockey Association.  Derek is originally from Blairmore, Alberta, and he grew up playing youth hockey and his junior hockey in Alberta and British Columbia before playing at Colorado College in the WCHA. He also was drafted by the Chicago Black Hawks in 1987 and attending the Vancouver Canucks training camp in 1989. Derek has completed his USA hockey Level 4 and is passionate about giving back to the game through coaching and is committed to skill development and growing a player’s love for the game.

14U A1 Spring Tryouts June 5-7th Lloyd Shaw Named Coach!

After a great '14-'15 campaign, which included a bronze medal at USA hockey Nationals, the Sno-King 14U program is already focusing on next season. Coach Lloyd Shaw, pictured above, is excited to be leading the charge as the A1 head coach. "We had a fun year and a great time competing for a National title, I am looking forward to assembling a top notch team next season! The first tryout is planned for June 5th through the 7th and is now open!

17u A1 Coaches and Tryout Announcement

Sno-King is proud to announce the signing of Bill Audycki and Connor Audycki to coach the 2015-16 Sno-King 17u A1 team. 

Expectations are high for this team given a strong coaching staff and a solid nucleus of players returning from last year’s 16u A1 team being bolstered by returning 1999 players and a group of 2000’s fresh off a Bronze medal at the USA Hockey Tier 2 National Championships.

The team will participate in the Vancouver B.C. Pacific Coast league and they will also compete in the PNAHA State 18u Tier 2 Tournament with a goal of representing our State at the USA Hockey Tier 2 National Championship tournament in Amherst, NY.

17u A1 Coaching Staff

Bill Audycki

Coach Audycki has spent decades coaching in the Seattle area and leading many teams to regional and national tournaments. Coach Audycki did a great job coaching our 16U Tier 2 team in 2013-14 and prepared many of those players to make the jump to junior hockey. He is known as a strong developer of players such that they have a full understanding of the game and develop great habits day to day. As a player Bill spent time in the Junior A BCHL and at Clarkson University prior to his pro career.  During his pro career he attended the New York rangers training camp.

Connor Audycki

Connor grew up within the Sno-King organization and was the 2005-06 recipient of the John McDonald award which is given to a Sno-King Bantam player who best represents and displays the high ideals of leadership, sportsmanship, and love of the game. Connor played junior hockey for the New Hampshire Junior Monarchs and went on to play four years at Southern New Hampshire University, winning the Division 2 National Championship as a senior. Connor is looking forward to continuing building skill development, he ran skill sessions for Sno-King in 2014-2015.

Dawson Butt Drafted in the 6th Round of the WHL

Congratulations to Dawson Butt who was drafted in the WHL Bantam Draft in the 6th round, 118th overall. He played for the Sno-King 14U Bantam Elite A1 team this past season and was coached by Turner Stevenson and Blaine McNeil.

16U Midget Elite A1 Tryouts Set...Turner Stevenson Head Coach!

Sno-King Hockey is pleased to announce upcoming tryouts for the 2015-2016 16U Elite A1 team, coached by former NHL player and WHL coach Turner Stevenson (pictured left). "I am excited to see the best 2000 and 1999 birth year players compete for a position at the end of May", said Coach Stevenson. "More practice slots, off-ice training and targeted Showcase tournaments are paramount at the 16U age level. We intend on focusing on these areas!"

Sno-King Players Invited to District Camps

The PNAHA District Selection camp was held in January but the names of the players progressing on weren't released until after the season concluded.  For the 2000's and older this is part of the selection process for the USA Hockey National teams.
