Peewee Spring Team Wins "Ultimate Hockey" Championship!

The Sno-King 97-98 Peewee Ultimate spring team had a fun and successful spring season going undefeated during league play and winning the championship on the June 19th-20th Father’s day weekend!

Many of the players returned from last spring’s championship team with a few new additions to a team made up from Sno-King, Everett, and Seattle Junior.

The weekend games were hard fought and although the competition was tough, Sno-King was able to get out to early leads and add to them as the games progressed.  The Saturday semi-final was against a tough Port Moody Panthers team who fell to the T-Birds 6-3 in a game that tested the toughness and determination of the Peewees who, despite provocation, stayed focused on their task and finished a strong disciplined game.  The Championship game Sunday was against the Vancouver Ice who had played the T-Birds very closely early in the season and were coming off a strong 6-1 victory in their semi-final matchup.  The T-Birds defensive pairs of Jordy Levens and Kyle Gibson, Mitch Brubacher and Bobby Skinner were critical to the team’s strategy and put in shutdown defensive performances in front of shutout goaltending from Ben Gardner and Matt Soldano.  The T-Birds won 4-0 with goals from Jordy Levens, Tom Ignatovitch, and the final two from Tom Faulkner.  It was a great team effort by everyone! Rounding out the team’s forward lineup: Michael Gasser, Daniel Zenkovitch, Colin Dootson, Jake Frost, Jordan Grimm, Adam Bingham and Jesus Barrera-Garcia.

Congrats to the 97-98 Sno-King Peewee Ultimate Spring team and their coaches Doug Brubacher, Randy Gibson, and Bob Skinner!
